  1. About the RunTime version of Extend
  2.  
  3. The Extend RunTime version allows you to run customized models that have been built in the full version of Extend, Extend+BPR, or Extend+Manufacturing by RunTime Developers.  Because it is a RunTime version, there are some limitations.

  5. The Extend RunTime version allows you to:
  6.     ‚Ä¢ Run simulations (models) and obtain graphical and tabular outputs.
  7.  ‚Ä¢ Change parameters (values) in a model and save those changes.
  8.     ‚Ä¢ See animation in the model, if "Show Animation " is selected in the Run  menu and the model has animation in it.
  9.     ‚Ä¢ Import and/or export files and interface through the serial ports, provided that the RunTime model has these features.

  11. Limitations include:
  12.     ‚Ä¢ You cannot build your own models.  Blocks (the components of the model) cannot be added to or removed from the models nor can connections between the blocks be altered.
  13.     ‚Ä¢ You cannot build your own blocks or access the structure and dialog window of an existing block. Therefore, you cannot modify icons, change a block's programmed behavior, add or delete dialog items, etc.
  14.  ‚Ä¢ The RunTime version is non-FPU so it can run on any Macintosh.  However, it may not run as fast as the full version of Extend.

  16. Requirements
  17. The Extend RunTime version requires a  hard drive and at least 3 MB of memory; color and black and white are supported. If you are using System 7 and/or are running large models, you may need to allocate more memory to the Extend RunTime application.

  19. RunTime Developer's Toolkit
  20. Extend users who build models and/or libraries in the full version of Extend, Extend+BPR, or Extend+Manufacturing may choose to personalize, protect, and distribute their work by using the RunTime Developer's Toolkit and becoming a RunTime Developer. If you intend to distribute models that utilize blocks from the BPR or Manufacturing libraries, you must use the Developer's Toolkit to protect the libraries. The RunTime Developer's Toolkit comes with a copy of the RunTime Version.
